From the front line in the oil and gas industry, as an Field Operator to the Management team, I have travelled a path that has made me into a highly dedicated leader that understands that it is not the leader, it is the team. I know that someone who helps their team reach their potential, is truly a leader.
I have been a Health and Safety Professional for almost 20 years now, and I feel truly fortunate to have met so many people with the same passion and drive to make workplaces safer for everyone! I can not take credit for my successes without recognizing that there have been several amazing mentors, coaches, teammates, co-workers, and friends that have helped with this pursuit.
Of my achievements, I am very proud of the recognition that my team and the organization received. We were nationally recognized with Awards of Excellence for HSE Program, Awards of Excellence for Safety in the Oil and Gas Industry and the most rewarding were the Awards of Excellence in Safety Culture!
As I have now started on this new venture, Macanta Safety Ltd, I look forward working on my next challenge, new learning opportunities and working with great organizations that want to make their workplaces safer and creating authentic leadership!

Since 2008 , as Legacy Safety, Rachel has been writing Health, Safety and Environmental programs for clients across the western provinces.
Her very thorough and keen eye for details is rare and needed in this industry!
In addition to writing and managing HSE programs, she has become an expert in working with Contractor Registries, such as ISN, ComplyWorks, Veriforce and others. Not only does she support the data entry and managing compliance, she works to ensure the programs she builds and supports, are continually evolving with the regulations and hiring clients expectations.
